170 million year old dinosaur fossil found in China
Scientists from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleontology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the southwest of the country have found fossils of dinosaurs that lived on Earth 170 million years ago.
And according to Chinese news agency Xinhua, according to local authorities, over the past two years, Chinese scientists have found fossilized parts of ancient reptiles at nine sites in southeast China’s Yunnan province.
Chen Gong, deputy director of the Department of Natural Resources, points out that most of the fossils were found after heavy rains caused erosion and soil erosion.
Scientists have determined that all discovered fragments belong to the Jurassic period (145-201 million years ago). According to official statistics, since 1938, scientists have found 410 sets of fossilized dinosaur parts in the Chuxiong Autonomous Region of Yunnan Province.
