1966 England world champion George Cohen dies

Moscow, December 23 – George Cohen, World Cup champion in England in 1966, has passed away at the age of 83, according to the official website of his former club, London, Fulham.
The cause of death of the former football player has not been established.
Cohen played for Fulham throughout his career, playing as a defender. He played for the London club from 1956 to 1969. In the England national team, for which he won the World Cup on home soil, he played 37 matches.

For winning the World Cup, Cohen was awarded a Knight of the Order of the British Empire, and in 2009 he was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame.
