48% Increase in Sales of Vape Fluids in Russia

Moscow, March 20 – Sales of vaping liquids in Russia in February 2023 increased by 48% compared to February 2022, in January – by 57%, according to a study by Kontur.Market, the results of which are available from the News Agency.

The study says: “Sales of vape liquids are growing. In January 2023, the growth was 57% compared to January 2022, and in February, sales increased by 48%.”

In addition, hookah mixes were purchased 45% more in January 2023, and 53% more in February compared to the same periods last year.

At the same time, the average price of liquids for vapes has not changed much and is about 550 rubles per 120 milliliters. The price of hookah mixes increased by 9% (for 50 gram packages) and amounted to 350 rubles.

At the end of January of this year, a law was signed in the Russian Federation that increased excise rates on cigarettes and cigarettes, tobacco for heating, as well as electronic cigarette liquids (vapes) from the first spring month, while abolishing the excise tax on electronic cigarettes themselves. In addition, from April 1, 2023, information on wholesale and retail circulation of nicotine-containing liquids for electronic cigarettes will be transferred to the Chestny Znak system.
