82-year-old patient with four types of cancer successfully treated by Siberian surgeons

Oncology surgeons from the Mikhalkin Medical Center in the city of Novosibirsk in Western Siberia saved an 82-year-old patient who was diagnosed with 4 types of cancer.

According to the local newspaper Ave-Novosibirsk, the man was previously treated for malignant tumors of two parts of the intestine in 2010 and 2017, then doctors discovered two new subtypes of cancer.

The head of the oncology department of the hospital, Maxim Nikitin, said: “It seems that his body was desperately looking for death from cancer, but surgeons from time to time did not allow him to achieve this.”

According to doctors, other medical institutions did not allow the 82-year-old patient to have an operation, fearing serious complications, as it happens in older people after such an operation. Experts also said that the man, in addition to cancer, suffers from diabetes.

Despite all the problems, the operation was a success. Now the patient is recovering at home, where he is undergoing rehabilitation.
