Moscow, February 7 – Estonian Ambassador to Russia Margos Ledri left his residence early Tuesday morning, a source familiar with the situation told the News Agency.
The ambassador, according to the interlocutor of the agency, left the house in Maly Kislovsky Lane early in the morning, leaving in one passenger car.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on downgrading diplomatic relations with Estonia. He notes that Estonia has taken a new, unfriendly step to drastically reduce the size of the Russian embassy in Tallinn, which confirms the line towards the collapse of relations between the two countries. In response, the Russian side decided to demote the diplomatic representative to chargé d’affaires, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, adding that the Estonian ambassador was summoned to the ministry on Monday. He is scheduled to leave Russia on February 7.
