Abu Dhabi.. Launch of IDEX and NAVDEX 2023 with more than 1,350 exhibitors from around the world

Today, Monday, IDEX 2023 international defense exhibitions and NAVDEX 2023 naval exhibitions kicked off in Abu Dhabi, and IDEX is expected to be celebrated this year on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its launch.

The events of the sixteenth session of the International Defense Exhibition “IDEX 2023” and the seventh session of the Maritime Defense Exhibition “NAVDEX 2023” will be held from February 20 to 24, the exhibitions are organized by the ADNEC group in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense and under the patronage of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.

The International Defense Exhibition “IDEX” is one of the most important exhibitions in the world and the largest in the region, and “IDEX” 2023 is expected to be the most outstanding exhibition in the history of the exhibition, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of its launch.

More than 1,350 local and international companies from 65 countries will take part in the International Defense Exhibition this year.

This year’s show is expected to attract more than 130,000 VIP visitors, decision makers and professionals from all over the world, up 209% from the previous show in 2021.

For the first time, nine new countries take part in the exhibition, namely: Uzbekistan, Ireland, Nigeria, Montenegro, Lithuania, Kuwait, Bangladesh, Colombia, in addition to Monaco.

This year’s edition is characterized by many first-time initiatives that strengthen the position of the most significant event in the world in the field of defense industry, as Hall No. 13 was added, with a total area of ​​​​more than 2200 square meters to accommodate new companies.

For his part, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stressed the importance of the IDEX and NAVDEX exhibitions and their role in promoting the exhibition industry, which has become an important engine among the engines of our national economy, a knowledge platform for the exchange of experience and technology transfer , as well as an effective basis for building partnerships.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said that since the launch of its first session in 1993, IDEX has witnessed the development of our defense industry and its presence in the various international exhibitions in which they participate.

He added that the current session of the show features a space for start-ups and an innovation track, allowing entrepreneurs and innovators to present their ideas, technologies and solutions in the defense and maritime defense industries to the most prominent participants. and stakeholders in two sectors.

Russia, represented by Rosoboronexport, which manages the export of Russian weapons and military equipment, takes an active part in the defense exhibition, as the company will present 200 samples of Russian weapons at the exhibition.

Prior to the start of the exhibition, Alexander Mikheev, General Director of Rosoboronexport, said that it had offered the countries of the Middle East (Gulf) partnership in the field of armaments, including in the production of the modern Keshmate fighter.
