Moscow, January 9 – Kazan “Ak Bars” for the first time this season beat Novosibirsk “Siberia” in the regular season of the Continental Hockey League (KHL).

The meeting, which took place on Monday in Novosibirsk, ended after a penalty shootout with a score of 3: 2 (0: 1, 1: 1, 1: 0, 0: 0, 1: 0) in favor of the guests. Alexander Radulov (28 minutes) and Vasily Tokranov (47 minutes) scored for the winners, with Dmitry Voronkov hitting the winning shot. The hosts scored Nikita Korotkov (15) and Alexander Sharov (22).

The previous achievement is 43 (16 + 27) points in 56 games of the 2020/21 regular season with Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Beck also repeated the “Siberian” club record for assists in one regular season. The same number of assists were provided by the Finns Juri Leistera in the 2013/14 season and Jarno Kuskiranta in the 2014/15 season.
Sharov scored the 22nd goal and repeated the club record for goals in one regular season – Evgeny Lapin scored the same number of goals in the 2008/09 season.
Ak Bars extended its winning streak to four matches. This season, “Sibir” and “Ak Bars” played with each other three times, and two victories are in the assets of the Novosibirsk team – 4: 2 and 6: 3.
