Introduction
Alaa Mubarak, the son of former Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, recently shared his thoughts on a parliamentary reconciliation proposal between Mahmoud al-Khatib, the president of the Egyptian Al-Ahli club, and Mortada Mansour, the sacked president of Zamalek.
Parliamentary Proposal for Reconciliation
Representative Amal Abdel Hamid, a member of the Egyptian Parliament, presented a parliamentary proposal to Councilor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, the Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament. The proposal was then referred to Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, for consideration. The proposal aims to establish a reconciliation treaty between Mortada Mansour, the former president of Zamalek, and Mahmoud al-Khatib, the president of the Al-Ahli Club.
Alaa Mubarak’s Response
Alaa Mubarak expressed his opinion on the proposal through his official Twitter account. He called the parliamentary proposal “strange” and questioned the need for a parliament to address this issue.
In contrast, Alaa Mubarak’s tweet in Arabic praised the parliamentary proposal, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary involvement. He mentioned that a female member of parliament submitted a request to the speaker of parliament to present the proposal to other members for their consideration. The proposal will then be sent to the minister of youth and sports for acceptance, leading to a reconciliation process. Alaa Mubarak also suggested that there could be alternative solutions instead of prolonging the issue.
