American racing driver Ryan Preece has been hospitalized following an accident in the NASCAR Cup Series regular season finale at Daytona International Speedway, as reported by the competition website.

During lap 156 of the race, Preece lost control of his Ford Mustang, causing it to flip approximately ten times before veering off the track. The driver was assisted out of the smoking car and transported to the medical center on a stretcher.

NASCAR has announced that Preece will be sent to the R&D Center in Concord for testing.
