An Altai resident is awaiting trial for the murder of his ex-wife on the day of the divorce

Barnaul, February 27 – A resident of the Altai Republic will stand trial for the murder of his ex-wife, which was committed on the basis of jealousy on the day of their divorce and left four children without a mother, reports the region’s SUSK RF.

“The investigation of the criminal case against a 40-year-old resident of the Kosh-Agach district has been completed. He is accused of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional murder). The investigation established that the accused saw his wife with another man, after which he began to pursue the woman who left him in the car.

The woman has four minor children. At the time of the preliminary investigation, they were taken into the care of relatives. The man is in custody and faces up to 15 years in prison.

The department added, “On the day the crime was committed, a judicial decision was issued to dissolve the marriage between the accused and the victim, at the latter’s request.”
