Moscow, February 18 – Russian schoolchildren will begin to study general education subjects in virtual reality in the next 10 years, Victor Demin, head of the “Education” direction of the NIIT Competency Center in the direction “Neurotechnologies, Virtual and Augmented Reality Technologies” on the basis of FEFU, told the News Agency.
According to him, some schools and universities are already using virtual reality today to teach, for example, chemistry or a foreign language.
“With the development of virtual reality technologies, educational programs are created in virtual reality, and more and more educational institutions will integrate it into their educational programs. According to our estimates, in the next ten years, we can expect virtual reality tools to begin to appear on a large scale in universities and Russian schools.

He noted that the specialists of the NTI Competence Center have created a set of educational products in virtual reality in four subjects: English, stereometry, physics and chemistry. It is suitable for both school and university educational programmes.
The expert determined that learning with the help of virtual reality technologies has become more effective. According to him, in the next two years we should expect attempts to create metaverses covering a significant part of the subjects of the school curriculum.
“The introduction of virtual reality technologies will allow education to reach a new level in the next ten years and conduct classes in a digital environment with full immersion,” the expert added.
