Moscow, January 16 – Chelyabinsk Tractor goalkeeper Sergey Melnikov, CSKA Moscow defender Nikita Nesterov and Sochi forward Sergey Popov were named the best players of the 19th week of the Continental Hockey League regular season, according to the official KHL website.
For the first time in his career, Melnikov was recognized as the KHL Player of the Week. He achieved two wins in two matches with the team. Melnikov scored 65 shots, of which he saved 97.06%. The reliability factor was 1.00. In the match with Yaroslavl “Lokomotiv” (1: 0) Melnikov played “to zero” for the first time in his career.
Nesterov was included in the Player of the Week list for the second time in his career. The defender has 4 points (2 goals + 2 assists) in three games. He also made two powerful fumbles, a blocked shot and four tackles.
