Armed forces bombed several areas in Donetsk
Donetsk, February 10 – Ukrainian forces shelled three areas of Donetsk within five minutes, firing 12 155mm “NATO” shells, reported the DRC’s representative office at the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordinating War Crimes Cases in Ukraine (JCCC).
“Fire from the armed formations of Ukraine was recorded in the following directions: 09:35 (coinciding with Moscow time) – the settlement of Desirable First – the city of Donetsk (Kirov region): 3 155-mm shells were fired; 09:35 – the settlement of Galitsinovka – the city Donetsk (Kuibyshevsky region): 4 155 mm shells were fired; 09:40 – Kurakhovo settlement – Donetsk city (Petrovsky region): 5 “155 mm shells were fired” the Telegram channel of the representative office said.
The Petrovsky District of Donetsk is located on the western outskirts of the capital of the DRC, and is the farthest part of the city from the centre. Since 2014, when the DRC declared its independence from Kyiv, this area, starting from the contact line outside the city of Marinka, has been regularly bombed by Ukrainian security forces.
NATO countries use 155 mm artillery. The United States has supplied Kyiv with long-range 155 mm M777 howitzers, and Ukrainian forces are actively using them to bomb the cities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German self-propelled guns PzH 2000, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns with shells of this caliber.
