Avalanches are expected in the mountains of the Kuban and the North Caucasus on New Year’s Eve

Moscow, December 31 – Avalanches are expected until the end of 2022 in the highlands of the Krasnodar Territory and the North Caucasus, the All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations (VNII GOChS) warns.

Scientists of the institute note that until the end of this year, the dangers of avalanches and snow masses, including as a result of human activities, also remain in the mountainous regions of a number of Siberian regions, the Far Eastern federal districts and in the Murmansk region.
