Avangard Claims Advantage in KHL Playoff Series with Win Over Sibir

Moscow, March 6 – Avangard defeated Omsk-Sibir Novosibirsk in Game 3 of the first round of the KHL’s KHL playoff.

The meeting in Novosibirsk ended with a score of 4: 3 (2: 1, 1: 0, 1: 2) in favor of the guests. As part of the winners, Sergey Tulchinsky scored a double (8 and 43), Vladimir Tkachev (15) and Corbin Knight (34) scored one goal each. The hosts scored Igor Alanov (3), Nikita Shashkov (54) and Trevor Murphy (60).

In the second half, Avangard had three shots on goal. In total for the match, Omsk accounted for 12 shots, against 37 in Siberia.

Forward “Siberia” Alexander Sharov played his 400th match in the KHL.

The score in the series was up to four victories 2-1 in favor of Avangard, and the fourth match of the confrontation will take place in Novosibirsk on March 8. Previously, the two teams met once in the KHL playoffs. In the 2012/13 season, Omsk won the first round tournament with a score of 4-3.
