Samara, February 10 – AvtoVAZ on Friday launched pre-series production of Lada Vesta NG at a plant in Tolyatti, and the start of serial production of cars is scheduled for early March, the press service of the government of the Samara region reports.
Previously, Lada Vesta models were assembled at the company’s plant in Izhevsk, but in August it was decided to transfer production to the main site. In November 2022, AvtoVAZ announced that it had assembled the first test Lada Vesta NG at a plant in Tolyatti.
“On Friday, February 10, the governor of the Samara region Dmitry Azarov and the head of AvtoVAZ JSC Maxim Sokolov launched the pre-series production of Lada Vesta NG at the Togliatti site,” the report says.

The regional government has determined that the start of serial production is scheduled for early March, in April new cars will be sold. In the coming months, AvtoVAZ will continue the process of preparing for mass production of L ada Vesta NG, preparing equipment and organizing production and logistics schemes.
AvtoVAZ has production sites in Togliatti and Izhevsk. In mid-May last year, French Renault transferred its stake in AvtoVAZ (67.69%) to the state property of the Russian Federation. The new leadership of AvtoVAZ announced its intention to resume production of almost the entire model line as early as 2023. Now the brand consists of four families of models: Vesta, Largus, Granta and Niva. Branded vehicle sales in 2022 amounted to 188.6 thousand vehicles (-46% by 2021).
