Azerbaijan Shaken by 5.4 Magnitude Earthquake
A strong 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck Azerbaijan late Monday evening, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
The quake, with a magnitude of 5.4, occurred at a depth of 35 kilometers (about 21.75 miles) and the epicenter was 46 kilometers (about 28.6 miles) off the coast of Khachmaz Province in the Caspian Sea.
The earthquake was felt in the capital, Baku, as well as in some other nearby areas. However, there are no tsunami risks in the aftermath of an earthquake.
According to preliminary estimates, no injuries have been reported so far.
