Barcelona extend Alonso’s contract until 2024
Barcelona, leaders of the Spanish Football League, announced on Friday that they have extended the contract of Spanish left-back Marcos Alonso until 2024, with a €50 million fine clause.
And the Catalan club wrote in its official account: Barcelona and Marcos Alonso have reached an agreement to extend the contract with the player until June 30, 2024. The value of the penalty clause issued is fifty million euros.”

Alonso (32 years old and 9 internationals) joined Barcelona last September as a free player after a Chelsea career since 2016.
Alonso made 17 appearances for Barcelona under coach Xavi, who wanted him to stay at Spotify Camp Nou, saying: “He has adapted very well in the dressing room. He is a wonderful young man.”
“He is a reliable player, has a lot of experience and is mature enough to play in several roles. It was an outstanding contract,” added the club’s coach, who recently won the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Alonso grew up in the corridors of Real Madrid before moving to Bolton, England in 2010 and then to Italy’s Fiorentina, who loaned him to Sunderland, England in 2014 before joining ” Chelsea.
