Young Spain defender Alejandro Balde extends contract with Barcelona
Barcelona has announced that young Spanish defender Alejandro Balde has signed a contract extension with the club for five more seasons. The agreement will keep Balde at Barcelona until June 30, 2028.

The termination penalty for Balde’s contract has been set at one billion euros.

Last season, the 19-year-old defender impressed as a left-back, even displacing veteran Jordi Alba (34) on occasion. Balde’s performances led to Alba’s departure for Inter Miami this summer, where he joined former teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.
Balde, who came up through Barcelona’s youth system, made his first-team debut during the 2020-21 season. He has represented Spain in six international matches and has played a total of 56 games for Barcelona, scoring a goal and providing six assists.
