Barcelona midfielder Pedri has injured his right quadriceps muscle, as reported on the club’s website.

According to Marca, the 20-year-old Spaniard is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks, which puts him at risk of missing the beginning of the new Champions League season. The first round of group stage matches is scheduled for September 19 and 20.

Pedri has already played in both matches of the new season and made an impact by becoming the team’s first goal scorer in the tournament. He opened the scoring in the first round match against Cadiz, resulting in a 2-0 victory.
