He pointed out that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues the work that began in 2014 to investigate many brutal crimes of Ukrainian armed groups, stressing that investigators, forensic specialists and experts from the department are now working in the special operation area.
The head of the department also stated that after the accession of the DRC, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to Russia, new investigative units are being formed in the regions. “Of course, work in new regions is organized in such a way that citizens, despite the provocations of Ukrainian nationalists, feel safe,” he stressed.

Bastrykin added that the department, within the framework of one criminal case, continues to investigate the facts of genocide in the Volgograd, Novgorod, Leningrad, Orel, Pskov, Rostov, Smolensk regions, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, in the Crimea and others.
