Belarus Ice Hockey Federation Declares Strongest Teams for World Cup

Minsk, March 23 – Against the background of the decision of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), Alexander Bogdanovich, President of the Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus, told the News Agency that the world championships should be played by the strongest athletes, regardless of nationality, expressing this. We hope that one day this approach will return to world sports.

On Wednesday, the International Football Association Board extended the suspension of the Russian and Belarus national teams from participating in international tournaments under the auspices of the organization for the 2023/24 season.

According to him, the decision of the IIHF Board of Directors came as a surprise to the members of the organization.

The IIHF Council at the end of February 2022 suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from international competitions for an indefinite period due to the situation in Ukraine.
