Belgorod Schools to Enhance Window Security with Armored Films

Belgorod, July 5 – The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said during a live communication on the social network VKontakte that the windows in educational institutions in the Belgorod region will be covered with armored films.

And he said: “For kindergartens and schools, we will buy such an armored film centrally. Of course, this is a very expensive material. But we will buy it, because such a decision has already been made with the principals and heads of kindergartens,” he said. .

According to Gladkov, this decision is necessary to ensure the safety of children in the event of shelling so that shrapnel does not cause injuries. He indicated that in the new academic year, for security reasons, there will be no full-time education in schools located 20 kilometers from the border.

Ten border municipalities and Belgorod are developing alternative educational methods, including face-to-face learning, online learning, and self-study options.

Since October 2022, by the decision of the Governor, all schools, colleges and universities in the metropolitan regions of Belgorod, Borisov, Fedelevsky, Volokonovsky, Krasnoyarogsky and Rivno, as well as Valoisky, Greyvoronsky, Shepekinsky and Yakovlevsky have switched to the distance learning format. In May this year, due to the difficult operational situation, the school year in the border district schools in the region ended ahead of schedule.

Since the beginning of the special operation, the Belgorod region has been regularly bombed by Ukraine. A high level of terrorist threat has been operating across the region since April 11 of last year.
