Borrell said that he does not understand those who want to stop arming Kiev

Brussels, February 15 – The EU’s head of diplomacy, Josep Borrell, told members of the European Parliament that he “doesn’t understand” those who want to stop military supplies to Ukraine in order to achieve peace.

Earlier, the head of European diplomacy told the European Parliament’s plenary session that arms supplies to Ukraine and diplomatic efforts to reach a settlement “could run in parallel.”

The meeting was broadcast on the website of the European Parliament in its translation into French, said Borrell, who spoke in Spanish. He urged these people to “realize that stopping supplies to Ukraine will not lead to a cessation of hostilities on the part of Russia.”

“The death of every person causes me as much pain as you do. But if we want the war to end faster, we need not less, but more and faster help for Ukraine,” he said.

Russia sent a note to NATO countries over the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has indicated that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. He warned that as the West pumped more and more long-range weapons into Ukraine, the geographic objectives of the special operation were moving further and further from the current line.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the West should understand that supplying weapons to Ukraine will not enhance its security.
