Neymar Jr.’s father, the Paris Saint-Germain star, was arrested in recent hours, according to Brazilian press reports.
According to the Brazilian newspaper UOL Esporte, the police arrested Neymar’s father at his home in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The environmental prosecutor’s team, accompanied by officers from the military and civilian police of the state of Rio de Janeiro, went to a house in the Costa Verde region where the player is seeking to build an artificial lake in order to notify and stop construction work.
The reason for the arrest of Neymar’s father was a violation of environmental laws after diverting waterways, taking water from a river without permission, unauthorized drilling, illegal movement of stones and the use of beach sand.
