Bybit Partners with American University of Sharjah to Offer Scholarships
Bybit, one of the world’s top cryptocurrency exchanges, has joined forces with the American University of Sharjah (AUS) to provide scholarships worth approximately $272,000 (AED 1 million) to exceptional students.
Bybit’s Collaboration with AUS
In June of this year, Bybit announced its partnership with AUS, and this scholarship initiative is a result of that collaboration. The initial memorandum signed between the two entities aims to support 20 students in their academic and research endeavors related to financial technology.
Bybit Expands to Cyprus with a New License
Additionally, Bybit has expanded its operations to Cyprus and obtained a new license.
So far, the scholarship has benefited a total of 38 students, including 29 currently enrolled students and 9 new first-time students.
Dr. Fadi Aloul, Dean of the College of Engineering at AUS, expressed his thoughts on the initiative, stating:
“As a center of excellence for research and a catalyst for change, AUS recognizes its important role in producing professionals who possess the technical skills and knowledge that will allow them to thrive in dynamic markets and evolving industries. We also believe in the importance of working closely with our industry partners to meet their needs and bridge any gaps between academia and businesses. Our partnership with Bybit and the creation of the AUS-Bybit Fund Scholarship will empower our students in the fields of fintech and blockchain in an ever-growing digital world.”
In addition to the scholarships, Bybit has contributed an extra AED 100,000 to sponsor the AUS-Bybit Inter-College Hackathon, focusing on “Artificial Intelligence in Cryptography.”

The AUS-Bybit Fund Scholarship
The AUS-Bybit Fund Scholarship aims to motivate students to actively contribute to the growth of crypto and blockchain. Its main goal is to provide students with financial support to pursue education and research in the field of decentralized finance.

Recipients of the AUS-Bybit Fund Scholarship are chosen based on specific criteria, including academic standing, grade point average, and financial need. Additionally, students must primarily be enrolled in computer engineering and computer science degrees. The selected recipients represent a diverse group with exceptional talents and a strong interest in fintech and blockchain.
The scholarship, with a total endowment of one million dirhams, will cover 25% of tuition fees for the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters.
Ben Zhou, Co-Founder and CEO of Bybit, expressed his excitement about the scholarship initiative, saying:

Prior to the scholarship program, Bybit introduced a wealth management product in August, offering clients customized solutions and potential high returns with reduced risk.
