CAF Champions League. Zamalek lost at home to Shabab Beluizdad
Egypt Zamalek lost to Algerian guest Shabab Belouizdad with an unanswered goal on Friday in the Group D opening of the African Champions League competition.
Cameroonian Lionel Wamba scored Shabab Belouizdad’s goal from the penalty spot in the 57th minute.
With this valuable win, Belouizdad tops the fourth group with three points ahead of Tunisian Esperance vs Sudanese Mars scheduled for tomorrow Saturday in the same group competition, while Zamalek is at the bottom of the standings.
Zamalek, champion of the Egyptian league for the past two seasons, is in a phase of imbalance after a modest league performance of late as he has an orphan victory in his last seven matches, the last of which was a humiliating loss to Farko. 3-0 last Monday in the seventeenth stage, which led to his decline in the rankings to fourth place.
