Madrid, January 12 – Spanish police have arrested one of Europol’s most wanted criminals since 2014, according to a law enforcement press release circulated Thursday.
“The National Police has arrested in the province of Toledo one of the most wanted criminals by Europol since 2014… The detainee was a member of one of the most active criminal organizations in recent decades in Spain and was an ‘expert’ in this field of technical and computer means.”
According to the Spanish police, the 37-year-old has been complained to the national public with charges of torture, kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, threats, bodily harm and crimes against public health.
The criminal organization of which he was a member was involved in, among other things, the theft of large quantities of drugs. To do this, its members in the ports track the arrival of containers with drugs belonging to other smugglers. Allegedly, the arrested person is responsible for the surveillance, which was organized with the help of several technical devices: frequency detectors, motion sensors, and GPS devices.
