Celebrating 150 Years of Rachmaninoff: A Symphony Concert in Venezuela

Buenos Aires, March 26 – The Russian embassy reported that a symphony concert was being held in Venezuela to mark the 150th anniversary of the Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Rachmaninoff’s Second Symphony was performed by the Juan José Landata Orchestra. The program also included many romances and short works by the great Russian composer.

“While Russian culture is being suppressed everywhere or, as they say now, ‘abolished’, in Venezuela we have the opportunity to admire the works of such great classics as Rachmaninov. Here, world history and culture are respected,” said the Russian ambassador. Venezuela Sergey Melik Bagdasarov. The diplomatic mission quoted his words.
