Chasing Legends: Benzema Closing the Gap on Ronaldo and Messi

Real Madrid’s French striker Karim Benzema played the hero in his team’s 1-0 win against Liverpool on Wednesday night in the second leg of the Champions League final at the Santiago Bernabéu citadel.

Benzema scored the only goal of the match in the 78th minute.

According to the statistics network Opta, Benzema has achieved his 33rd goal in the Champions League playoffs.

Benzema became the third scorer in the playoffs after Lionel Messi (49 goals) and Cristiano Ronaldo (67 goals).
