Moscow, January 15 – Chelsea Football Club has confirmed on its official website that it is close to signing a contract with Shakhtar’s Ukrainian player Mykhailo Modric.

Earlier it was reported that representatives of Chelsea had arrived in Poland to negotiate the acquisition of Modric. The Blues intend to snatch the player from London club Arsenal, outbid their bid of €100m. Later on Saturday, the Shakhtar press service confirmed the fact that the negotiations were successful.
