Chile Hit by Magnitude 5.9 Earthquake

A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck the city of Valparaiso, in Chile, on Tuesday, according to a statement from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The center said the quake was recorded at a depth of 44 kilometers (27.34 miles) below the Earth’s surface.
