Beijing, March 7 – Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said at an annual press conference on Tuesday that the US strategy in the Indo-Pacific region is in fact an attempt to forge a version of NATO in the Asia-Pacific (APR) region.
The diplomat stressed that the goal of the US strategy in the Indo-Pacific is to contain China, which is “doomed to fail.” According to him, the Asia-Pacific region should be an arena for mutually beneficial cooperation, not a chessboard for geopolitical confrontation.
