The chief physician of the Moscow club, Eduard Bezoglov, has reassured fans that CSKA’s goalkeeper and captain, Igor Akinfeev, is in good health. He confirmed that Akinfeev will be able to participate in the team’s upcoming match this season.
Akinfeev’s Absence in the Match Against Orenburg
Akinfeev was not included in the team’s application for the sixth round match of the Russian Premier League against Orenburg. The match is scheduled to take place at the Ural club stadium on Friday at 17:30 Moscow time. The 37-year-old goalkeeper has been out of play since August 5 due to an injury. Bezoglov explained that although Akinfeev could have played against Orenburg, the coaching staff decided to rest him due to the artificial turf at the club’s stadium.
