Death toll in Kazakhstan’s Xanauzen city gas explosion climbs to three.

Astana, April 17 – The death toll from a gas explosion in a two-storey residential building in the city of Janauzhin, Mangystau district of Kazakhstan, has risen to three, according to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that early Monday morning a gas cylinder exploded in a two-storey residential building of 12 two-storey apartments, as a result of which one of the entrances collapsed. Initially, 11 victims were reported, and later rescuers found a dead body under the rubble of the house, and the number of victims increased to 12.

“So far, rescuers have pulled out three dead people from under the rubble,” the statement said.
