Poultry Prices Decline in Egypt

Introduction

On Sunday, poultry prices in Egypt experienced a fresh decline in both the stock market and local markets. This drop comes after a significant decrease in recent days.

Reasons for the Decline

Tharwat Al-Zaini, the vice president of the General Poultry Federation, explained that prices in poultry farms have fallen from £68 to £55, indicating a decrease of £13.

According to Al-Zaini, this drop is primarily attributed to the decrease in feed prices and their increased availability. Additionally, the high temperatures have played a significant role in reducing prices. The hot weather forces breeders to sell their birds early to prevent them from staying too long in poultry farms.

Impact of High Temperatures

Al-Zaini further mentioned that the mortality rate of poultry due to high temperatures ranges from 2 to 5 percent.
