Moscow, March 17 – Russian runner Igor Kipakin, the 400-meter champion, has been banned for four years for violating anti-doping rules, according to the official website of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA).
The athlete was sanctioned on the basis of data from the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory (LIMS), according to which he was found guilty of using or attempting to use prohibited substances or methods.
At the same time, the 30-year-old athlete received a temporary suspension, so his disqualification was calculated from March 7, 2023 to June 16, 2026. Kepakin’s results in competitions from June 20, 2012 to June 19, 2016 were annulled.

In 2012, Kepakin won the gold medal of the Russian Championship in the 4x400m relay, and in 2015 he became the indoor champion of Russia at a distance of 400m in the individual championship. In addition, the runner will be deprived of the gold medal at the 2013 European Youth Championships in Tampere, Finland, which he also won in the 4x400m relay.
