She says: “Many people after the age of 25 suffer from insufficient lactase production, which prevents the rapid digestion of milk. Therefore, drinking milk at night, on the one hand, can help them fall asleep quickly, and on the other hand, it will cause bloating and excessive gas formation, which negates the positive effect of milk.

And the doctor points out that a person suffering from sleep problems should eat bananas because they contain a high percentage of tryptophan, potassium and magnesium. These substances contribute to muscle relaxation and good sleep. It is also recommended to take care of supplements containing magnesium.

And he adds: But before taking substances that help speed up sleep, you need to consider the speed of digestion and absorption. For example, red fish and peas contain a high percentage of tryptophan, but it is not suitable for improving sleep, as it takes a long time to digest. Therefore, she recommends eating a light protein meal at night.

The doctor advises avoiding alcohol in order to fall asleep quickly, as REM sleep does not compensate for the damage that alcohol does to the body. In addition, alcohol does not improve the quality of sleep.

And he adds, if these recommendations for improving the quality of sleep do not help, a person should consult a specialist. Because it is wrong to neglect this problem, since it can be a symptom of a serious illness, such as a malfunction of the heart, blood vessels, or nervous system.
