Donetsk hit by shelling from Ukrainian forces once more
Moscow, April 16 – At 21:00 Moscow time, Ukrainian forces opened fire on the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, firing three 155mm “NATO” shells, the representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic of the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordination of Cases Related to War Crimes in Ukraine (JCCC) reported .
The Petrovsky district of Donetsk is located on the western outskirts of the administrative center of the DRC, and is the farthest part of the city from the centre.
Since 2014, when the DRC declared its independence from Kiev, this area, starting from the contact line outside the city of Marinka, has been regularly bombed by Ukrainian security forces.
NATO countries use 155 mm artillery. The United States has supplied Kiev with long-range 155 mm M777 howitzers, and Ukrainian forces are actively using them to bomb the cities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German self-propelled guns PzH 2000, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns with shells of this caliber.
