Elections for the provincial legislature will be held in September on a single voting day. For the first time, the People’s Assembly of the DRC will not be elected as the parliament of a self-proclaimed state, but as the legislative assembly of a region of the Russian Federation. It will include 90 deputies, not 100 as before.
“For the first time in the DRC, we are launching an open preliminary voting procedure … the most open procedure that exists in the Russian Federation today.
