STRIKING
- Stamina recovery between rounds has been reduced and now tapers off as the fight progresses. Previously, stamina recovery remained flat throughout the rounds, but with this change, fighters will recover less and less stamina as the rounds go on. This overall reduction amounts to almost 20%.
- Body strikes have been tuned to shift their focus from damage to stamina drain utility. Feedback from players highlighted that body strikes were too damaging, leading to quick TKOs. Additionally, the stamina drain from body strikes felt insufficient, discouraging strategic use of these strikes. Several specific tuning changes have been made to address these concerns:
- Damage Decreases:
- Body Straight: -10%
- Body Lead Hook: -15%
- Body Rear Hook: -10%
- Body Lead Upper: -10%
- Body Rear Upper: -10%
- Long-Term Stamina Drain Increases:
- All Body Punches: +22.5%
- This increase aims to provide a net +10% drain compared to the damage decrease for most body punches, with a focus on significantly increasing the damage for the body jab (which is not receiving a damage decrease).
- All Body Kicks: +10%
- Vulnerability Decreases:
- Chin (Upper) Vulnerability of all Body Punches: -15%
- General Vulnerability (anywhere but Chin) of Body Jab: -33%
- The speed and evasive properties of ducking have been improved. This enhancement aims to reduce instances where strikes unnaturally track opponents as they’re ducking.
- Proper stances (orthodox/southpaw) have been assigned to three fighters: Sergei Pavlovich, Magomed Ankalaev, and Colby Covington. This adjustment ensures that these fighters’ stance accurately represents their real-world fighting style.
- A rare foot planting issue with the Leon Edwards Alter Ego has been fixed. Previously, Leon Edwards could sometimes drag his feet when walking around, resulting in an unrealistic visual glitch. This issue has been resolved.
- A rare unplayable state caused by cage knockdowns has been fixed. Players will no longer encounter this issue during gameplay, improving the overall experience.
GRAPPLING
- The effect of Negative Grapple Advantage in the ground game has been removed. Previously, Negative Grapple Advantage would speed up the opponent’s transitions while slowing down the player’s transitions. With this change, Negative Grapple Advantage no longer slows down the player, encouraging more activity and preventing fighters from holding positions for an extended period.
- The influence of the Ground Striking attribute on postured Ground and Pound damage has been increased, especially for elbows. This adjustment rewards fighters who specialize in postured ground and pound, providing a buff in damage. At maximum attribute levels, punches will receive a 10% increase in damage, while elbows will see a substantial 23% increase. Get ready to “Smesh!” your opponents with devastating ground and pound strikes.
- The damage of elbows in the tight ground game has been decreased. The base damage of tight ground elbows (when not postured up) has been reduced to a value slightly higher than punches. Although the influence of the Ground Striking attribute on damage has been increased, the overall result is still a decrease in damage. Elbows will retain their bonus for causing cuts and swelling, making them more potent than punches, but not as significantly as before. This adjustment encourages players to use punches when aiming to target facial injuries such as the eyes with hooks or the nose with hammer fists. Ground elbows primarily target the forehead, similar to postured-up elbows.
- An issue in the Heads-Up Display (HUD) related to submissions has been fixed. Previously, the damage icon of the first desperate escape incorrectly carried over to subsequent desperate escapes and the finish, even when they required different icons. This issue only affected the visual representation of the icons on the HUD and did not impact gameplay functionality.
- An issue where knees could get caught in the clinch and result in fighters getting stuck has been addressed. Players will no longer experience this problem, ensuring smooth gameplay during clinch exchanges.
- A rare unplayable state occurring during a clinch grappling exchange has been fixed. Players will no longer encounter this issue, leading to a more seamless gaming experience.
