Egyptian-Jordanian agreement to facilitate the supply of Egyptian gas to Aqaba

Egyptian Oil Minister Tariq al-Mulla agreed with his Jordanian counterpart Saleh Kharabshe to facilitate the delivery of natural gas to the industrial city of Kuweira in Aqaba.

After the signing of the agreement, Al-Mulla explained that it is a continuation of the work of the Egyptian oil companies that are working on the implementation of natural gas network projects in Jordan, through Fajr, which plays a prominent role in the sale of natural gas. projects in Jordan in recent years.

For his part, Saleh Kharabshe, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan, said that this project is a continuation of the great efforts to bring natural gas to industry in light of creating an attractive climate for investment in Jordan, emphasizing the importance of natural gas in reducing production costs, streamlining energy use, reduce carbon emissions and create new jobs. This supports the Jordanian industry’s ability to increase its exports and its ability to compete in world markets. He praised the role played by the Jordanian-Egyptian company Fajr and the fruitful cooperation between it and the Aqaba Development Company to promote the development of the Jordanian economy.

The Kuwaira Industrial City Gas Supply Project is an economic project that supports Jordan’s national industry and helps reduce the operating costs of factories compared to other fuels, helps to reduce carbon emissions in a way that saves the environment, and allows these industries to enter into global competition and increase their export.

For his part, Hussein Al Safadi, CEO of Aqaba Development Company, pointed out that this project is the first of its kind in Jordan as an industrial city to be established with natural gas facilities to power small, medium and large enterprises, expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the two ministers for their support in moving forward with natural gas delivery projects. With regard to the industrial sector in Jordan, adding that the natural gas project represents an important step in attracting foreign investment to help boost the development of the city of Aqaba, especially in the logistics sectors , ports and industrial zones.
