Moscow, February 1 – Students in the 11th grade of most schools in the capital are switching to a new form of preparation for the Unified State Examination (USE) from February 1, and now students will intensively study the subjects they have chosen for the exam.
Starting Wednesday, a pilot project for flexible curricula will begin in the capital’s schools. As determined by the News Agency in the Moscow Ministry of Education, 407 schools out of 500 are participating in the project. Students of these institutions have already completed the entire core curriculum in non-core subjects before February 1.
As part of the new project, students will attend workshops in groups on the topics they need for admission. They will allow children to prepare for the exam itself, solve complex questions on topics, and also organize the material studied. Therefore, in the workshops, students will analyze exam tasks and will be able to solve any problem topics.

Groups are formed to organize workshops according to the level of preparation of school children and their focus on the exam result; For this purpose, diagnostics and “experimental use” were performed. At the same time, all schoolchildren in their previous classes, and not in groups, will study the subjects necessary for the development of personality and maintaining health: mathematics, history, social studies, literature and physical education. A workshop in Russian will be mandatory for everyone. Students in Specialized and Pre-Professional classes will continue to study core subjects in accordance with the program until the end of the academic year.
As emphasized in the Education section, the schedule for starting and ending lessons and their duration will remain the same, and the number of lessons per week in subjects will also not increase.
They also indicated that this format for preparing for the exam was developed at the request of parents and students. As the results of a survey of parents showed, in the second half of the year, the majority of eleventh graders purposefully prepare for the exam, paying much more attention to their core subjects than to non-core subjects.
