Moscow, January 6 – Austrian soccer player Christian Fuchs has announced his retirement as a player, according to the official website of Fuchs’ latest club, Charlotte of the MLS North American League.
Fox decided to retire from football at the age of 36 after playing 19 seasons and 577 professional club matches. In them, the central defender scored 37 goals and gave 83 assists.
Also on account of Fuchs 78 matches for the Austrian national team, in 37 of which he played the field with the captain’s armband. Fuchs played for the senior national team of Austria from 2006 to 2016, and became a member of two European Championships – 2008 and 2016.

Fox played for Leicester from 2015 to 2021 before moving to Charlotte. With the Foxes, the Austrian won the 2015/16 Premier League title and also won the FA Cup in 2021. Before Leicester, Fox played for eight years in the German championship for Bochum, Mainz and Schalke 04 (2011-2015), with which he won the German Super Cup.
