European biathlon champion Shumilova won the Race of Champions in Raubici

Moscow, January 22 – European champion Ekaterina Shumilova and Olympic silver medalist Sergey Novikov became the winners of the Biathlon Champions Race, which was held in Raubice, Belarus, as part of the Commonwealth Cup.
The race was held in the form of one mixed relay with a lap distance of 400 meters and eight shooting lines with the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes.
Shumilova and Novikov showed a result of 14 minutes 43.6 seconds, spent 11 extra rounds and 4 penalty loops. World and European champion Yekaterina Yurlova-Brecht and three-time world champion Petr Ivashko (lag – 16.8 seconds; 8 bonus rounds + 7 penalty loops) are in second place, bronze medalist of the world championships Olga Podchuvarova and world champion Oleg Rezhenkov (+16, 9 ;10 + 6).

It was European Champion Olga Nazarova and two-time Olympic bronze medalist, President of the Russian Biathlon Federation Viktor Maigorov in seventh place (+1.51.8; 11 + 9), silver medalist of the world championships Lyudmila Kalinchik and Olympic silver medalist, coach of the national team Russia’s Pavel Rostovtsev finished eighth (+1.52.2; 17+13).
