Berlin, April 2 – The head of Poland’s National Security Office, Jacek Severa, told the dpa news agency that Warsaw is ready for closer cooperation within the framework of NATO’s measures on nuclear deterrence.
“It is possible that Poland will be ready to expand its participation and cooperation within the framework of nuclear deterrence by NATO forces and take responsibility,” he said.
Severa explained that this does not include the deployment of nuclear weapons on Polish soil.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow and Minsk had agreed that, without violating international obligations, they would deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. Putin made it clear that Russia is not transferring its nuclear weapons to Belarus, but is doing what the United States has been doing for decades. According to him, the construction of a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus will be completed on July 1.
On Thursday, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Military Sciences Alexander Bartosz told the News Agency that on the territory of seven European countries, as well as in Turkey, there are warehouses with American nuclear weapons from the Cold War, and pilots from many European countries. I learned to deliver nuclear bombs to the borders of the USSR. He added that today the possibility of delivering nuclear weapons to the Russian territory of NATO has been increased, as they can use the airports in Poland, the Baltic states and Romania.
Western critics of the initiative to deploy Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus do not mention the problem of storing American nuclear weapons in Germany – the German authorities do not officially comment on the presence of nuclear weapons in the country, however, leading international experts estimate the number of American nuclear bombs in Germany in dozens of units, and demand States opposition parties to the withdrawal of US nuclear weapons from the territory of Germany many years ago.
