Moscow, July 6 – Roskomnadzor told the News Agency that the new social network “Themes from Meta *” will be able to work in the Russian Federation in accordance with the requirements of the law, and the social network is available for download in the App Store and Google Play, the News Agency’s correspondent reports.

Earlier Thursday, it launched Meta* Thread, a new text messaging service designed to be used on Twitter, which is owned by American billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk.

“The condition for the operation of any social network on the territory of the Russian Federation is strict compliance with the requirements of Russian legislation. According to the law, Internet sites visited by Russian users must immediately remove socially dangerous content and counteract the spread of destructive materials. According to the description of the new app’s page on the App Store, the service is available for download from July 6 and is designed to “share ideas and trends through text.” Threads will become the third service in Instagram Inc.’s portfolio.
