The Asian Under-23 Football Championship: Finalists Determined for Paris Olympics 2024
The finalists for the upcoming Asian Under-23 Football Championship, set to be held in Qatar next year, have been announced. This tournament will feature the participation of 16 teams, with the top three teams securing a direct qualification for the Paris Olympics in 2024. Additionally, the fourth-placed team will have a chance to compete against Africa’s fourth continent for an additional spot in the global tournament.
Qualifiers for the AFC U-23 Cup Final
The AFC U-23 Cup qualifiers, which took place during the international break in September 2023, saw 15 teams secure their place in the finals. These teams, along with host country Qatar, will compete in the tournament. The qualifiers involved teams from 11 different groups, with the top group and the top four runners-up advancing to the final stage.
The teams that qualified for the Asian Under-23 Championship are: Jordan, South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Uzbekistan, Iraq, UAE, Thailand, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Kuwait, China, Malaysia, and Tajikistan.

AFC U-23 Cup Draw Date
The draw for the AFC Under-23 Cup is scheduled to take place on November 16 next year at AFC headquarters. However, the exact date and location of the draw are yet to be confirmed.
Classification of Qualified Teams
Prior to the draw, the qualified teams will be divided into four tiers and distributed into the four groups of the tournament. The tiers are as follows:
- First level: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Japan
- Level two: Australia, South Korea, Iraq, Vietnam
- Third level: Thailand, Jordan, UAE, Kuwait
- Level four: Malaysia, Tajikistan, Indonesia, China
