Moscow, February 7 – Five wrestlers have been rescued from the rubble after a devastating earthquake occurred in Kahramanmaras province (Turkey), Haber Global reports, citing a statement from the Turkish Wrestling Federation.
Turkish Olympic champion Taha Akgül said on Monday that the sports club building in Kahramanmaras province, which housed 30 to 40 wrestlers, was completely destroyed. They were trapped under the rubble.
Earlier, the Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports, Mehmet Kasapoglu, said that all sporting events in Turkey had been suspended until further notice.
