Football club in Moldova penalized for using anti-Russian slogans

Chisinau, April 8 – The Football Federation of Moldova (FMF) has fined Chisinau FC Zimbru (Zubr) for anti-Russian posters posted during the match in the fan sector, according to the organisation’s official website.
The match between the clubs “Zimbru” (Chisinau, Moldova) and “Sherif” (Tiraspol, Pridnestrovy) took place on April 1 in the Moldavian capital, before the end of the match, banners with anti-Russian slogans “The Russian world brings tears” appeared in the midst of the fans Moldavian team.

The match on April 1 ended with the victory of “Sheriff” with a score of 2: 0. From December 2020 to June 2022, the Tiraspol team was coached by the Ukrainian coach Yuriy Vernydub.
